NOTE TO SELF

B1

Be confident, not arrogant!

Confident ˈkɒnfɪd(ə)nt/ – Feeling or showing confidence in oneself or one’s abilities or qualities.

Arrogant ˈarəɡ(ə)nt/ – Having or revealing an exaggerated sense of one’s own importance or abilities.

B2

Embrace your uniqueness. Some may look, talk or act like you. There will NEVER be another you!

B4

Safety is key. Don’t joke with your life!

B5

There is time for everything under the sun. The only constant in life, is change. Things won’t always be the same.

B3

The race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither bread to the wise, nor riches to men of understanding, nor favor to men of skill; but time and chance happen to them all.

Yours sincerely,

Nii Odzenma

PUNCTUM

insta-copy

This year and beyond, I want to start and complete projects. While brainstorming, on how to achieve my goals I decided to start small and progress steadily.

prince2-insta

An idea came to mind and Prince (model), agreed to help bring it to life. He got Oteng (fashion student) to help accessorize the head gear.

After the shoot, Punctum (title of the editorial) came to life, after some retouch by Amenyo “Joshmanga”.

TIP: You can own an idea but will need other people to bring it to life. Their help may not be ‘major’ but will certainly contribute to your success story.

You can be that distinct and unavoidable detail this year. Stay focused. Plans don’t always work perfectly.

Have a great year and be all you can be 🙂

ONE LIFE TO LIVE

b1

There are days when you feel you are the only one, not making a head way in life. You wonder why things are not going your way as planned.

b2

Well, you are not the only one who feels that way. Others the world over, share the same or similar experiences as you.

b3

Its up to you to endure, plan and take opportunities as they come. Either you take steps to change your situation or sit back and allow your situations to change you.

You have one life to live. Make it count!

Have a great week and stay productive 🙂

EQUANIMITY

“Life in this world is a great struggle, for both the young and old. And even those who have great riches, have troubles of their own….”

B1

In life, I have come to understand that we don’t decide our race or families. The truth of the matter is, you are here. Just ensure you are moving in the right direction and know that, there are things we can never change!

B2

We can’t halt time. Generations come and generations go. You are here for a purpose. Find that purpose and work to achieve it. Wont be easy, but you have to do it. Other generations are fast approaching which means we have limited time than we think.

B3

In the end, what matters is whether you are a conduit of blessing, wealth, knowledge, hope etc to the next generation. You need calmness and composure in this life. Simply put, we all need equanimity in this life of constant struggles.

Have a great week 🙂

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

1

THINK [thingk]

There are different sentences that explain the word ‘think’. I want you to focus on the one that says “To employ one’s mind rationally and objectively in evaluating or dealing with a given situation”

INSTA

REST [rest]

Make time to rest because it means “Refreshing ease or inactivity after exertion of labor”. It is more than vital for your next move.

Have a great week and stay productive.

Thank you 🙂

PROVERBS

We all need advice from time to time. To me, I love proverbs because they are short and  state a general truth or piece of advice.

I went through my old files and found the following images I took back in 2013. I decided to caption them with proverbs. These and other proverbs will come in handy, when you want to say much with few words. Do check my earlier Street Lesson I &II posts.

3

If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.

1

You become wise when you begin to run out of money.

2

Always being in a hurry does not prevent death, neither does going slowly prevent living.

4

Every woman is beautiful until she speaks.

Have a great week 🙂

WHERE THE TWO ROADS MEET

Where the two roads (NII OWOO RD. & ATUKPAI RD.) meet in Ga Mashie (Jamestown, Accra) is a place where juvenile boxers meet on sunday afternoons to test each other strengths. Working on a project and will update you in due time. While you wait, enjoy these.
